Shotgun riding area

Postby Stevewr450f » Wed Feb 15, 2017 8:06 pm

Just got new 2017 Te 300. Normally ride in trask nestucca area. But my guess it's pretty iced up for awhile.

Coming from Portland area is there a quicker way to get to shotgun without going to Eugene and cutting over? which staging area is best? Good trails to try?

Thanks for the help. Excited! Steve

You could take the Brownsville exit and drive 228 to get there. I usually park at the lower lot, but the area isn't that big so it really doesn't matter much. I think Cascade View has more room. Any trails that are bike only are the best, but some like "The Abyss" (Trail 18 if I remember correct) could be exciting when its wet. Like I said, it's not really a big area so you can hit just about everything that's open in a day. A couple trails are closed due to logging/thinning.

I was there a couple weekends ago and it was great.
