UPDATE: THIS IS RESCHEDULED TO THIS SUNDAY 3/24/13!
February 24, 2013 Leroy's Logjam final trail tread rock installation
Just a reminder (I will be off from 2/15 through 2/23) that I will be about ¼ mile up from the bottom of the Leroy’s Logjam Trail (unless there is a blanket of snow on the ground @ the Hwy 6 pass level) with the ST240 and our Polaris 6x6 w/dump box by 0900 on February 24,2013. Hand tools will be in the back of my truck parked near that trailhead. Bring your favorite rock spreading tools if you have them. A garden rake will work.
I have already developed an excellent rock source with the ST240 that is about ¼ up from the bottom of the trail. I will use the ST240 to load rock into the Polaris dump boxes and anything else (quads with rock boxes?)that show up with a rock hauling capability. I am also trying to get the Forest Grove Polaris 6x6 w/dump box up there that day. The OMRA will also bring their Polaris 6x6 w/dump box.
NOTE – We are NOT using the ODF tracked rock haulers as we do not need to continuously rock the remaining sections. Those heavy rock haulers would soften the sections not rocked whereas the 6x6’s will not. We will be spot rocking just the sections that need it.
I hope to see you and your buddies there that Sunday so we can finish our rock work on this trail.
A map with GPS coordinates (some of you will want to come in from the Carlton side via Ginger Creek) of the trailhead in MS XPS format is attached to this email.
