License Plate Mounts & Blinker Options

Postby MOTOCHIMP » Fri Jan 23, 2015 6:05 pm

I'm looking for some input for plate and blinker options for my 2015 Husky 501S. Considering this bike will be used mainly for off road, I'm looking for ideas from some of you guys that have already found a good solution. Which aftermarket options are the most functionable, most durable, etc...

Also, are there any other recommendations that anyone might have that I can do to make this bike a lttle more suitable for offroad? First thing I noticed was how tall the gearing is, what are some options for solving this issue? Any input on any components would be welcome.

Thanks, John

Hey John,
I run flush mount winkies on the back and standard on the front. The aft ones are the units that get dinged the most, hence flush mounts.

I run my plate vertical as it aids as a fender extender.

Can't help you on the Husky - gear it down it seems!

I have a 500 E/XC, which as the same motor. It's pretty much geared like a street bike stock. I went with 14/50 to start. Huge improvement. Still just a tiny bit high-strung for really tight stuff so I put a 13 on the front (13/50 is what the 500 XCW comes stock with), but I haven't had a chance to try that out yet.

As for lights, give SICASS a call, they have options to clean up the tail light/blinker hang down mess. www.siccassracing.com

I'm with Tom on the front blinkers. Haven't had an issue with the stock ones.

John, did you come up with a nice and clean license plate bracket? I am in the same boat and haven't found any options online.

Dave,

Sorry so long getting back. Ya, I went with the Sicass Racing and it came out sweet. PM your phone number and I'll forward some pics, unless you can direct me how to download onto this site.
