Number Plate Reminder!!!!

Postby dlharte » Wed Jun 07, 2017 9:32 am

You are required by the rule book to run your OMRA number and appropriate background color. The fine print says you won't get points if you don't but I'm trying hard to not be that kind of guy.

RMATV has cheap pre-printed numbers and support the OMRA. Get them ordered up please either from them or some other vendor of choice.

Thanks to all that are already in compliance and to those about to become aligned. :ride

The goofy part of this is that if you are running the XC series, half of the races are ISDE style and your number is assigned at the race.....just saying.

Just so you guys know, this is not some random rule imposed by 'the man' just to add burden to your load. Running the proper race number helps tremendously in the scoring chute, running the right color backgrounds and letter designator helps you out on the course. Other riders can immediately tell which class you are in, and they can then make an informed decision on whether to pass you, let you by, or park you in some trees  And the other way around, of course. Having been on both ends of the process I can tell you it is appreciated. And yeah, the ISDE thing kinda throws a wrench in that system, but then if you catch someone or get caught in a special test, you should move over or pass immediately no questions asked.

The microchip implant that sends data to a helmet heads up display project is still in the "macaroni prototype" phase. Maybe someday. :-k

Till then for less than the cost of the anodized oil plug that impresses nobody, you can have these and look like the racer that you are. :ride

So do women and geezers run the same color combo as amateurs?

From the rule book. The Women class is considered an amateur class so yellow backgrounds. Geezers well there are both AM and EX Geezer classes but 60+ is Yellow.

Background and number colors:
x AA Class-red with white numbers
x Expert Class-blue with white numbers
x Amateur Class-yellow with black numbers
x Beginner Class-white with black numbers
x Junior Class – (See Junior Section)

The Junior class number plate colors will align with the other classes, and will be as
follows:
1) Junior Expert ( JX ) : Blue backgrounds with White numbers
2) Junior Amateur( JA ): Yellow backgrounds with Black numbers
3) Junior Beginner( JB ): White backgrounds with Black numbers
4) Junior C ( JC ): No mandatory colors
