6 hour age limit...

Postby Buck Nasty » Wed Feb 07, 2018 6:40 pm

Not a lot of action in the OTBG forum. So, here I am. I've done a couple of 6 hour races over the years and really want my son to get a piece of it. He's 10, but a very accomplished rider. I feel confident he would do well solo but, for everyone involved, I would send in an escort for every lap.

Scott...your thoughts/rules? Anyone else with experience in this area?

Shouldn't be a problem. In the past, we have run teams of mini riders without issues, with ages running from 9 and up.
He can even start if he holds back from the pack, that is the worst time for a little bike.
Trust me, my toys are MUCH bigger than yours!

Awesome! Thanks for the reply! So, to be clear, an escort isn't required?

Not required. Recommended . We leave it up to the parent to decide if they need to follow the young rider or not. We give out safety vests to the following person. Sometimes the parent/watcher follows one lap, sometimes every lap.
We have had kids on 50's faster than many amatuers.

Gotcha. We'll formulate a plan. Hoping all stays on track and the 6hr is a go in 3 weeks!

Thanks again!

Is this 6 hour at Eddieville or at Starvation Ridge? The schedule on the OTBG site is a little hard to read, sorry :/
