iPhone/iPod vs Garmin

Postby Rx2Ride » Fri Jan 03, 2014 6:10 am

Has anyone compared their iPhone or GPS equipped iPod to a Garmin w/WAAS capability? This will be used for off road and DS.

Thanks.

That would be like comparing a Volkswagen bug to a Ferrari. I never run WAAS on my Garmins - don't need it and it uses more battery life. Speaking of that, your Iphone will swallow battery juice with a GPS app I would think.

Thanks Tom.

I was just hoping to consolidate some of these tools. Have you tried the Garmin Montana?

That is my GPS of choice now - it really has a solid engine to it (which by the way is the same as the 62S Series). You must stay up on the firmware updates on both though.
