Keep your fingers crossed - this is a bucket-list race. For some reason my biggest yearly injury keeps occurring within 3 weeks before the 24hr.

Re: 2016 KTM 250xcfw, cold start problem

Check the sparkplug gap, or better yet swap it with a new one. Then verify the TPS voltage has not drifted, which could also be adjusted slightly to improve this. Compression/Bleed-down test would also be on my list to verify. If you have a riding buddy with a matching ECU, swap and see if the issue...

Re: Looking for 2 Maxxis Desert IT 120/100-18 from local shop???

It sounds like you are pretty dead set on the Maxxis Desert IT.. But, I can vouch for a next best (or better in my opinion) option with this MotoZ: https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/742/52130/Motoz-Tractionator-Enduro-I-T 120/90x18 Tube Type Motoz Tractionator Enduro I/T Part# 1544610004 Either w...

Re: Non-OMRA GP and Team Race, July 8&9

Hi Gary - Does this mean essentially a 3hr (9am-12pm) Iron Man for each rider, only that Team entries add their laps together? If both riders are on the course at the same time with no pit exchange, then both riders would be racing for the full 3 hours? I was expecting the traditional ride/swap/ride..

Re: Monkey Butt registration (April 16th 8pm)

Well, I skipped my CrossFit class so I could pre-enter. Let's hope I am part of JB's minute!

Dan - thanks for getting this set up and functional.

Re: Rekluse clutch

I've used an EXP 3.0 since early '15 on a 500exc, and also have the EXP on a 300 2-stroke. You will read many reviews that state the Rekluse "feels like cheating - it is that good!, blahblah". I was surprised when I had to admit this was not all hype. It was very easy to install and also g...

Re: September 17th&18th *new venue!*

SmokinRabbit Pano1.jpg This was a great addition to this year's schedule. The terrain was a great mix of fast flow, elevation, and some tight woods thrown in. And some loose sand which reminded me of Florida sugar-sand. Thanks to the Vincent's for a perfect family friendly venue! Let's us know when...

http://www.cyclopsadventuresports.com/3600-Lumen-LED-Headlight-bulb-for-DirtbikesDual-Sports_p_97.html I can vouch for Cyclops. I replaced my stock 500exc and they are worth every penny. Yours would be ~$50+$19 for rectifier I believe. Call them to ensure you get the correct version ordered. I was w...

Re: 25hr & Team racers - need feedback on lighting

One more question that should help narrow this down for us-

If I choose to run a LED combo lightbar with flood/spot, would you recommend the one single helmet light be a spot for reach, or flood for closer up terrain scanning?

Again, thanks for everyone's input.

Re: 2016 Shedd/Spoon Creek Schedule

I was also curious. What I did find by searching was it seems to be a newer format gaining popularity down in NZ and AUS. We rode 2 playdays this summer at Spoon Creek. Great fun both times - the place is perfect for concentrated workouts/training, and also for getting your bike set up. I highly rec...

SPOT Gen3 - Free via Rebate with sub. activation

If you are not sure what a SPOT device is, it is somewhat like an Epirb for dirtbikers. An Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon or EPIRB is used to alert search and rescue services in the event of an emergency. SlSNbfQTMPc I have the original SPOT Gen1, but I might upgrade to the newest now wi...

25hr & Team racers - need feedback on lighting

To all those who have been racing the 25hr/Team Endurance/ Shedd races that last into the dark hours, I hope to get some feedback on what you recommend or do not recommend. ~Helmet lighting vs bike bolt-ons ~What works, what has failed. ~Battery life ~Pros vs cons ~Your experience with brands like T...
