Triva Question

What is the majority of the undergrowth in the coastal northwest temperate rain forests of Oregon and Washington and does it stay green all winter long?

(see answer below)

Surprisingly warm and sunny weather greeted the NOHVCC partners and National Land Managers who attended their recent joint conference in Portland, Oregon. And of course with this group, there has to be some ride days involved. Tom's Nasty Trail ride on Monday was extremely challenging, even for the most experienced riders in the group. Triva Answer

Ferns! Big, beautiful ferns make up the majority of the undergrowth in that part of the country. And surprisingly, these prehistoric plants stay green all winter long in the wet, warm and cloudy climate. To see what we're talking about, check out the spectacular Pre-Conference Ride photos in this edition of NOHVCC News.
