Update from OTBG for their upcoming 4-Hour Race:

Thom, could you post that we are moving the Starvation Ridge 4-hour race on April 5th to our Eddieville site? Your picture of the bikes
riding in front of the racing boats would be appropriate if we tried to run at the Ridge in a couple of weeks. We have water EVERYWHERE!   Besides standing and running water in the pits and all over the course, I even found springs bubbling up in the middle of the track in several places. With a semi-wet forecast for the next 10 days, there is no way we could get people into the pits, let alone around the course.
HEY!!! Anyone interested in a Blackwater West race?

Scott

Press release from ETRA:

The Emerald Trail Riders Association, Inc. will once again be hosting the Funky Chicken AMA National Hare Scramble at the Big-K Guest Ranch in Elkton , Oregon . The fourth round of the AMA National Hare Scrambles Series will be a two-day event on May 24th and 25th, Memorial Day Weekend. OMRA Cross Country Series points will also be awarded. All Amateur classes will run on Saturday while Pro/Expert classes run on Sunday, allowing racers to take advantage of great spectating opportunities on the course and to relax for a day. The earlier date this year brings with it the likelihood of a dust-free ride and the possibility of a true Oregon mudder. The course will be a demanding combination of high speed meadows, wood-infested singletrack, gnarly descents and the traditional 1-mile ISDE grass track. ETRA has designed the 11-mile Amateur course to be fun and challenging for Saturday’s racers. Pro/Expert racers, however, will face numerous additions to the course on Sunday. Early test rides of the course have confirmed that new sections, such as: “Dave’s Black Diamond”, “For Pity’s Sake”, “See der Cedar” and “Flounder” are indeed worthy of National caliber. With the exception of course work and test rides, the Big-K is only ridden once a year, during this event. Oregon ’s premier off-road event promises to be a true test of skill, endurance and motorcycle savvy. Printable flyers, entry forms and additional information are now available at www.etra.net. Due to late sponsor commitment, a regional flyer, that will include all OMRA competition members, has not been sent but will be in your mailboxes within the next few weeks. Entries from the website are being taken right now. Pre-entry by May 15th is highly recommended due to the 200-per-day rider limit. Thank you for your anticipated excruciation, er, participation!
